Come join our research staff as they spend a bell or two presenting specialized topics that they've spent a significant amount of time researching and experiencing. With a Q&A at the end for lingering thoughts and burning questions, our goal is not to satisfy your curiosity but to make it burn brighter, as well as guide you in finding answers to your knowledge-based desires.Lectures will begin half an hour after opening time to allow for the presenter and guests to get settled in. Visit VIRD's Research Showcase to experience the culmination of our staff's efforts in discovering, obtaining, and sharing exciting finds from around the star. Be it an ad hoc lecture/discussion from one of our researchers or an exploration of some of our recovered relics put on display, we're sure to give you an inspiring glimpse of the realm of academia.Have questions for our staff? Annual VIRD-lympic Games
Debates will go from 7:30 - 9:30 PM EST
Every year, VIRD comes together as an FC to challenge each other in a variety of content available to us in game, examples including PVP, Chocobo Racing, Jump puzzle races, Triple Triad, and other fun activities. This blend of RP and in-game content acts as a palette cleanser for us between some of our heavier long-term plots and gives us a good location for socializing and allowing us and our characters to have bonding moments that are important for maintaining our relationships and friendships with one another.ICly, these games act as a test of skill in a multitude of realms, ranging from physical to mental to conversational, hailing from an old Sharlayan tradition that VIRD has adopted for its own.This year, we're extending an invitation to the wider world of Eorzea to participate as an active audience for our yearly Debates, where participants are given a topic and have a set amount of time to formulate an argument before an audience to push their point. As an active audience member, you're welcome to cast your vote as the Jury when it comes to making decisions on our participants' performances. If that isn't your cup of tea, feel free to wander our library and engage with our campus and other visitors!
